Lab X offers a range of scanning services
to cater for the diverse needs of imaging professionals.
From fast and cheap ‘low end’ scans, suitable for internet,
positional and reference use, to larger, higher quality
raw scans for further manipulation. The ultimate scans are
our finely crafted, high resolution custom scans, supplied
ready for reproduction.
Scans from a single image
These scans are made
using our Durst Sigma Scanner &/or our Frontier scanner.
The scans incorporate basic colour and density corrections.
They will still require fine adjustment. All formats including
135, 120 mm and 5”X4”. All films including transparencies,
negatives, black and white and cross processed.
Minimum job charge $11.00 price includes
CD. All estimated output sizes are based on 300dpi files.

Scan only from rolls of film
These scans are made
using our Durst Sigma Scanner &/or our Frontier scanner.

Custom scanning and retouching
Our highest quality scans
are captured on a Flextight Precision II scanner. A true
16 bit device with image resolution as good as the best
drums scanners. Its unique technology also offers a range
of other advantages, notably excellent scans from colour
negatives. Each frame is scanned individually and, as there
is no physical contact with the film surface, oil mounting
and cleanup are avoided. It is arguably the best source
for image files for photographic output.
We can scan from 35mm up to 5”X4” from
transparencies, colour and black & white negatives and
up to A4 reflective all up to 300 megabytes.
With this service files are supplied ready
for final reproduction; cleaned, adjusted and formatted
to your requirements. Further image retouching and manipulation
is available and is priced on quotation.
